• Foreword from Principal, Mr. Dominic Jeremiah on the Student Newspaper

          • Wednesday 18th January, 2023

Mr. Jerimiah, the principal of the Presentation Brothers College gives some remarks on the Students Editorial

"I am delighted that the Presentation Brothers College Student’s Council has taken the initiative to revive the Student’s Newspaper. Many years ago the “PBC Collegiate Magazine” was an important feature of our school culture and life here at the college. Our student’s body, teachers and even our parents looked forward to the monthly publication of this magazine. The sample of this newspaper that we have in the archives of the college celebrates a student’s initiative that was well planned, provided multiple opportunities for students to express themselves, to be engaged with current affairs, to exhibits creativity and to have a voice on matters that affected them. I want to encourage our school community – teachers and students- to support this effort of the PBC Student’s Council. Students must write articles, stories, poems, submit crossword puzzles, riddles, reflections on current events, both political, social and economic, give commentaries on sports and other current issues that your fellow students are interest in. This is a fantastic training ground for our future journalist, technology experts, writers, lawyers, business analyst and other professions that will require critical thinkers and personalities who can engage in public discourse and debates.

In order for this project to be successful, we all have to rally behind it, read the articles, encourage the editor and producers and encourage our friends, classmates, family members to patronize the magazine. I also want to encourage clubs and organizations within the school to use the magazine to publicize yourselves and your programs, let the rest of the school community know what you are doing and what activities you have planned and invited them to participate. I would like to see each everyone using this medium to celebrate what we are doing at the Presentation Brothers College.

Finally, I want to once again commend the editor Student’s Council for leading in this way. “Grenada’s boys are we, and its leaders we must be” is a line from our school’s song which is being brought to life. Every time we take the initiative to act on an idea, to follow through on a suggestion, to work to make a difference in our school, in our communities, in our nation and in our families – we create positive possibilities to improve the quality of life for others and for ourselves. PBC Students must never be talkers, but men of faith and action. Let us roll!"

            Dominic Jeremiah,

            Principal

Greetings Everyone, and welcome to our Student Editorial,

Say Hello to our new way of communicating. The Student Editorial is a platform solely designed to enable us, students, to be the choreographers of our student life and future. On this platform, information will be disseminated to the student population giving students the opportunity to develop their journalism skills and most importantly, publish their opinions on matters of critical importance to us as a student body. We thank you for your future cooperation and do hope going forward that this platform will execute its full purpose.

            Thank you,
